"Babe, I've been thinking"

As I have said before "Babe I've been thinking" are the words that my husband dreads most.  My brainwave this time was for me to learn to ride a motorbike.  It had been playing on my mind what we would do if Martin got injured or was sick.

I have spent most of my life avoiding bikes so to say Martin was shocked is an understatement.  He couldn't believe that I was even considering learning to ride, but he agreed that it was a good idea.

So I booked my CBT, in the UK this allows you to ride up to a 125cc.  I passed this, then had to sit a theory test.  It has been almost 30 years since I passed my driving test so I had to do a lot of revision.  I passed this then it was on to the DAS (Direct Access Scheme) This has two modules to complete.  I managed to pass these too so on the 24th of November 2021 I got my license (Thanks to Jeff and the team at Focus Rider Training).

Whilst learning to ride I  decided that I wanted to ride my own bike and not pillion, so after purchasing a Suzuki Vstrom 250CC first that I thought would be a great starter bike. I soon realised it was not going to be fast enough to keep up with my husband, so I traded it in and now have a Honda CB500X.  He's called Dante.
